put, Skip and Illene Dyrda are the husband and wife team responsible
for what you see here......Illene designs and creates the glass backgrounds
while Skip uses his graphic design and computer skills to combine the
glass images with text and borders to create beautiful Ketubot. Illene is a graduate of the Rhode Island School of Design and received her Masters from USF. Originally from Connecticut, she settled in Florida by way of Philadelphia, working for a time as a staff artist for a local art and accessory company. While being an accomplished painter, she has found her calling to be melting pieces of glass together creating beautiful jewelry, tableware, tiles and now Ketubot. Husband Skip is an accomplished and nationally recognized muralist but just can't stay away from creating art on the computer. He has been designing ketubot for several years both in digital form and conventionally rendered acrylic versions. His duties in this venture consist of photographing the finished glass backgrounds, digitally adjusting the images, composing the finished product as well as printing the Giclee' images on their 50" wide-format printer. Skip is also responsible for the web site creation and maintenance. When not handling Glass Ketubah responsibilities, he can usually be found painting in their Sarasota studio or off painting murals on location anywhere in North America. They are members of Temple Sinai in Sarasota and live and work in the Towles Court Arts District in downtown Sarasota, Florida with their daughter Mackenzie.
