5. What are the shipping options?
Our standard Ketubot, those that include the glass details, are mounted and matted, so need to be shipped flat. We therefore recommend that they be shipped via 2nd day air just so the package isn't hanging around in a truck for too long. For an example of how your Ketubah will look mounted and matted, click question number 15 above.

Rates for Standard Ketubot(shipped flat) Express by shipper of our choice $85.00 Ground Not Recommended

Rates for Economy Ketubot (shipped rolled) Next day air $35.00 2nd Day air $25.00 Ground $15.00

PLEASE NOTE that UPS will NOT deliver to a P.O. Box

6. Do you offer samples?
Yes, we do. However, they would not include the glass details. Our sample prints are basically small versions of the larger design, printed on the same paper. Cost is $25.00 for the first sample and $7.50 for each sample after that. Shipping for samples is free.

8. Will I receive a proof?
Yes! Before your Ketubah goes to the printer, we will email an "electronic proof" which will be a PDF file that most any computer can read or a link to a web page that will show your Ketubah as you ordered it. Please be aware that an electronic file proof does not provide accurate color representation! Each computer monitor is different and therefore, the colors you see on your screen are likely not accurate representations of the final product.

9. What is a Ketubah?
Traditional Ketubot (plural for Ketubah) were simple documents that laid out the financial terms of the marriage. Today, Ketubot are available in a universe of designs ranging from the very traditional to modern and everything in between. Traditionally, the text on on Ketubah was considered to be an actual contract, specifying the legal obligations of a groom to his bride and for some, that still applies. The text you see is typically written in both Hebrew and English and sometimes one or the other. The finished document then becomes a beautiful blueprint that you can refer back to, and a reminder of the shared love and aspirations that brought you together.

10. How is a Ketubah from GlassKetubah.com different from all the others? And why should I order from Glass Ketubah?
Good questions. The name gives you a hint......Glass. Many Ketubah artists now use a digital printing process known as Giclee' to print their Ketubot, as do we. However, we go one step further to make our designs unique in that we add decorative glass to the surface. In many of our designs, these 'jewels' are actually similar to details of the original glass background that was created in our studio.

Note that our economy Ketubot do not include these glass details.

Regarding the question, why buy from Glass Ketubah.....
As a full time working artist for over 17 years, I've always felt, and hoped, that my clients purchased my work, or hired me, because they saw something in my work that moved them. And I would hope that anyone shopping for a Ketubah makes their decision on that factor. Obviously, if none of our designs move you, you will look elsewhere. However, if you see something here but it's not exactly what you were looking for, please contact us and we'll do our best to create exactly what you want.
Also, we are an artist owned and operated studio and gallery. Illene and I own the studio were we work and we live right next door and have done so for the last eight years. The studio is often open to visitors, so if you are in the area, feel free to stop by.

11. What is a Giclee'?
From WikipediA Giclée (pronounced [?i??kle?] "zhee-clay" or /d?i??kle?, from French IPA: [?i?kle]), is an invented name (i.e. a neologism) for the process of making fine art prints from a digital source using ink-jet printing. The word "giclée" is derived from the French language word "le gicleur" meaning "nozzle", or more specifically "gicler" meaning "to squirt, spurt, or spray"

We do all of our printing right here in our studio, using two different Giclee' printers and use long lasting, pigmented inks

12. Will my Ketubah look just like the one I see on my computer?
Given that every computer monitor and computer combination are different today, what you see on your monitor will probably look different on someone else s monitor. So there may be color variations, but they should be slight. We do our best to make sure that the images on the web site accurately reflect the end product. If you concerned, it's a good idea to order one of our samples.

13. What texts do you offer? And how do I choose?
Today, many couples choose a prewritten text from a web site, just like this site, sometimes altering some passages to suit themselves and/or their rabbi or officiant. Some couples write their own Ketubah texts which may or may not include personal facets of their relationship. Our Ketubah texts were composed by a collaboration of freinds, relatives, us (Illene and Skip) and we even enlisted our Rabbi's wife for help (with input from her husband, I'm sure) You will find traditional passages as well as modern and we plan on adding more choices as time permits. Our Hebrew translations are beautifully done by one of the best translators we could find. Deciding on and choosing a text is a highly personal decision. You should also consult with your Rabbi or Officiant during the process to make sure the text you choose is acceptable for your ceremony.

We offer the following text options.....
Ketubah with personalization (ketubah personalization is always free)                                             FREE
Ketubah with no personalization. (you and/or your officiant fill inthe blanks)                                 Deduct $70.00
Ketubah with no text where you have someone else, a calligrapher, write the entire text.         Deduct $85.00
Ketubah with the text entirely written by you.                                                                                          Add $120.00

14. Where is your studio? Can we stop by to visit?
We are located at 253 South Links Ave., Sarasota, FL 34236 in the Towles Court Arts Community. Since we also live here, we are almost always around...almost. The studio is located behind our house and it's where we fuse the glass, print the Giclee's, and do most of the computer work. The glass is cut, ground and polished in a small studio inside the house.

However, we no longer have regular open studio hours. If you would like to stop by, it's best to call or email first.
